美国 M&K Sound 又名MK Sound，1973年由被冠以“超低音之父”、“导管式高音之父”的Ken Kreisel创始，是世界最有影响力的音响品牌公司之一。
M&K Sound是一家拥有近40年历史，全球知名的扬声器系统制造商。自70年代崛起于专业录音界，他们的设计理念也为业界创造了很多新标准。在录音技术方面，M&K Sound成立了全世界第一个LP直刻技术录音室，为全美最早投入数码取样录音的研究，并发行全美第一张直录CD，同时M&K Sound扬声器为多声道及蓝光领域奠定了监听标准。杜比及THX在初期制定多声道音效格式时，指定M&K Sound扬声器为必备的监听系统，因为M&K Sound的设计理念与这些多声道音效格式不谋而合“将最真实的声音完美重现”。

品牌发展简史与成就：
1977年M&K发明了世界上第一颗有源主动式分频超低音炮， 名称为Servo Volkswoofer。这项技术领先产业界10年之久，为日后的多声道标准奠定了产业基础。卢卡斯影业THX部门于1990年采用M&K的有源超低音箱担任THX DSP研发监听器材，Dolby也于1992年使用全套M&K音箱系统开发AC-3 5。1声道编码，正式为家庭影院添加了超低音声道。
1989年M&K独家的PUSH-PULL双单元双推挽技术是超低音炮的一大突破， 他能消除失真低音的翁鸣声， 并且产生高解析力与超快速的极低频。这个技术原理如下: 将两个超低音单元装置在一个经过精密计算尺寸的箱体里， 两个单元一正一反的对着外面， 两个单元在箱体内以相反的行径进行动作， 如图所示， 当装置于前面的单元往内动作时， 位于底端的另一个单元正面也同时往内动作， 这时藉由箱体内聚集的强大压力， 会马上将两颗超低音单体迅速的归位并且立即针对下一个讯号来动作。 而这两个单元的相位刚好是一正一反， 换言之他们虽然是两颗单元但是却是同时达到一个单元的运动路径。 这样的好处是可以消除只采用一个单元时， 震盆摆动移位所造成的非线性失真， 因为震盆来回震动不会固定在一条相同的路径上， 这就会引发解析力不够， 以及动态不足的现象。 PUSH-PULL使M&K超低音炮能在极低的低频下潜度时具备惊人的低失真度， 并且以爆炸性的单元运动来达到绝佳的速度。

History
While other manufacturers were building audio dinosaurs in the form of coffin-sized boxes, M&K led the way into the future with the world’s first satellite/subwoofer system, David & Goliath in 1976. The following year, M&K Sound introduced the Volkswoofer, the world’s first subwoofer with a built-in, dedicated power amplifier.
The journey began in 1973, when Walter Becker of Steely Dan commissioned M&K Sound to design a studio reference subwoofer and monitoring system for the Pretzel Logic LP mixing sessions.
